Fully-funded PhD Position in Biomaterials and Tissue engineering (Start date: 01/2023)
One fully-funded PhD position in the area of biomaterials and tissue engineering is available at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Michigan Technological University (MTU). The successful candidate will be supervised by Dr. Muhammad Rizwan. The research program in Rizwan Lab is highly multidisciplinary. It integrates knowledge from materials science, chemical engineering, micro-nano technology, and cell biology to design state of the art biomaterials for the growth of human tissues and to study cell-matrix interactions. The group currently consists of one PhD student and three undergrad research interns.
Requirements

Master’s
or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Materials/Chemical/Biomedical or similar)
•
IELTS/TOEFL
and GRE score is a MUST for graduate admissions
• Experience in hydrogels, mammalian cell culture, and cellular assays is good to have.
